Gary Herring
Dr. Gary Herring and his wife Earla Herring both grew up in the same hometown of Uniontown, Pennsylvania. They attended different schools, but God brought their lives together in their local church. Mrs Herring rode to church faithfully on a church bus, and one day Dr. Herring spotted his future wife while she was singing in the Church Choir. Their lives together have been surrounded by the ministry; they met at church, had most of their dates at church activities, and grew close together serving the Lord in Sunday School, Children's Church, and the Bus Ministry.
After three years of dating, they were married at Uniontown Bible Baptist Church. It was there, after graduating from Hyles Anderson, that Mrs. Herring served as the church secretary and Dr. Herring served as the assistant pastor. It was during this time that they welcomed there little one into the family, Lyndle Herring. After two and a half years serving as assistant pastor, Dr. Herring was called to be the Pastor of Bible Baptist. They served the Lord there for 32 years, and were privileged to have the Lord use them in growing a bus ministry to 12 buses, starting a Christian School, and a Bible Institute.
In January of 2002, Dr. Herring retired from the pastorate in Uniontown, and came to join us at Landmark. He currently serves as an assistant to the Pastor, a College Professor, and is the Director of the Senior Patriots Program.
