Church Choir
It has been an amazing forty years! Today it is rare to find a pastor who has faithfully served in one pastorate for this long. This January the 30th, beginning at 10:00 AM, Landmark Baptist Church is pleased to celebrate the completion of Dr. Mickey Carter’s 40th year of ministry here in Haines City. Dr Carter has been faithfully preaching the pure Word of God at Landmark Baptist Church since December of 1970. You can find more information on Dr. Carter’s history here. Or you can download a copy of the booklet “Dr Carter’s Call to Landmark“.
We would like to ask all of our members and friends to join us as we celebrate this great occasion. We will be holding a special Anniversary Sunday service with mystery hand-shakers, mystery parking, and a huge party out on the football field. We hope to see you here as we celebrate the past forty years, and look forward to what God has in store for the future.
Without a doubt, Restorathon, our radio stations equivalent to a sharathon or pledge drive, is the most important event of the year for Gospel 90.3 FM and Gospel903.com. In that three-day time period, the station will endeavor to restore the annual budget so that they may continue to broadcast the gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ locally and around the world. The cause and need is great, but our God is greater! Please tune in and pray for Restorathon 2010, this February 25th – 27th. We encourage you to visit our radio stations website if you are not already familiar with it; while there you can learn more about Restorathon 2010.
God truly blessed this years Anniversary Sunday. To God’s glory we were privileged to have 3755 in total attendance. There were 1248 riders that came in on our buses to join us for the big bus party out on the football field. The greatest blessing was that their were 408 professions of faith – Praise the LORD! We have posted some new pictures from the big day, as well as a video highlighting the special service and its activities. Both of these can be found by going to our media page. We encourage you to take a look!
The last Sunday of this month, January 31st, Landmark Baptist Church will celebrate the beginning of my parents’ 40th year of ministry in Haines City. My father and mother came to this town in December of 1970. My father’s first Sunday as pastor, there were 37 people in attendance. Last year on Anniversary Sunday, there were 4,142 in attendance.
Someone recently asked me how a pastor could stay in one place for so long. I answered by saying that I did not know, but that, by the grace of God, my parents have helped people and dealt with them honestly. The Bible says that you reap what you sow, and the harvest that God has given my parents is a testimony to this truth. My dad is not perfect, yet after almost 40 years, he has nothing to run from or skip town over.
In I Thessalonians 2:1, Paul says to the Christians in that church, “For yourselves, brethren, know our entrance in unto you, that it was not in vain:” By the Grace of God, my parents have a testimony of ministry that brings glory to the Lord Jesus Christ. I would like to ask all of our members and friends to join us as we celebrate my parents’ 39th anniversary this Sunday at Landmark Baptist Church in Haines City.
Sincerely,
Pastor Steven Carter

Round Up Sunday is always a great time, and this year was no exception! We had a wonderful time enjoying our western-themed Sunday. Most of our folks dressed up in their western duds, and we got quite a few good shots of ‘em. We encourage you to take the tame to gander at our photo gallery and see what great fun we had! If you missed it this year – make sure you won’t be a stray calf next Round Up Sunday!
